Marble knowledge
The 27 catalogue routes are commercial buying names. Some may be calcitic or dolomitic marble, some require serpentine review, and onyx or foreign-style names need separate identity control. Source, finish, treatment and test evidence must be approved per offered lot.
Identity control
ASTM C503 covers calcite and dolomite marble. Serpentine has its own material specification, while petrography establishes mineralogy, texture and the appropriate classification. A trade label cannot choose the standard.
Buying programmes
These programmes structure sourcing and comparison. They are not grades, geological classifications or origin certificates.
Evidence matrix
Use the licensed current ASTM, BIS and project requirements for acceptance criteria. The catalogue names methods and controls but does not reproduce thresholds or invent universal marble values.
Commercial identity
